yeah this looks like an awesome year for easterns

playing up here in new england. middletown and nmh, i'm curious about a little bit. middletown didn't impress me much when we played them and nmh had a subpar year last year after losing all their seniors a couple years ago but i have no idea how those teams are like this year.

Paideia not in attendance. This tournament is officially MOOT.

I concur with the post above this one.

anon 12:08 may have a point. actually, anon 12:08 does have a point.

although paideia hasn't attended a nationals (or easterns) since '03 in birmingham, this is probably the first year where their absence is a real factor. in the previous three years, it was clear that amherst was the dominant and likely winning team (and they were). in '07 however, paideia looks to be the better team based on their recent college results.

i think one can only put an asterisk (*) next to the '07 easterns champ if paideia wins both their own home tournament and the amherst invite. if either amherst, pennsbury or some other team wins either of those tournaments, then paideia's absence at '07 easterns doesn't necessarily make the tourney moot.

paidea will kill amherst

prediction at paidea cup or AI

paidea 15 ARHS 9

It does not matter LC Bird is winning easterns.

Anonymous said...

is that a joke???

Anonymous said...

No I am very serious LC bird is stepping up come easterns and winning it all!

Unknown said...

the only teams with a chance of taking easterns are...

needham represent
pennsbury

and maybe columbia if they step it up a ton

outlier

LC Bird will not win it. I will be shocked it they make the A bracket sunday, truely shocked.

A Bracket
North Hills, Pennsbury, Needham, Amherst, Columbia, HB Woodlawn, Princeton, mystery team

North Hills has a good chance of getting to finals. And don't forget, they have no seniors on their team- they are entirely sophmores and juniors.

Anonymous said...

Sorry to say, but Amherst will take it again.

Anonymous said...

Which other teams are mostly underclassman? I know Pennsbury, Needham, and paideia are mostly seniors. Are there any good juniors teams that are mostly juniors or younger?

quarters:
North Hills, Columbia, Pennsbury, Amherst, Needham, YHB, Princeton, Nashville

Semis:

Columbia VS Pennsbury

Amherst VS Needham

Finals Amherst vs Pennsbury

Winner Amherst
Remeber this post cause it will be right.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when they do the final seedings and pools for easterns?

Anonymous said...

Everyone can stop making predictions because you're all just being ridiculous...just let it play out and see what happens, obviously the favorites for the best teams on the east coast are Paideia, Amherst, and Pennsbury, but anybody at Easterns could be any other team at Easterns with a little luck and some good breaks. The talent field is nearly even, and like always, it will come down to who wants it more on that day in that game.

Didn't Needham just recently beat Amherst? Even if they do upset Needham, I don't see them beating Pennsbury.

Ha! Amherst doesn't "upset" teams. Rather, other teams occasionally "upset" Amherst. Amherst just beats them most of the time.

I like how nobody puts last year's runner up, madison west, in the mix.

Anonymous said...

amherst is done
gooooo needham

Anonymous said...

a bit cocky dont you think needham? north hills is real good

Anonymous said...

Anyone have any thoughts about the newer teams? Fieldston, Middleton, Sycamore. Also Princeton might be a contender for easterns this year. They almost beat pennsbury at YHB.

Anonymous said...

what about mt lebanon?
they beat lc bird and hbwoodlawn back to back.
i dunno why both of those teams are in and lebo isnt. plus lebo got 5th at easterns last year.
seems to me like they deserve to be in it.
Seems like there are some weaker teams that got in because of regional diversity, and took spots from better teams.

madison west graduated all their players last year, this year they only have juniors and sophomores (or so it says on scroe reporter). Also, how did west do at the High School Terminus? Only two scores were reported and they lost both games.

Anonymous said...

im curious to see which underdog teams will show some unexspected strength

Anonymous said...

west got tenth at terminus

Anonymous said...

How many and what teams went to terminus?

Anonymous said...

princeton???? hahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahaha

Anonymous said...

As a side note, Columbia High School is in Maplewood New Jersey.

Anonymous said...

how about the weather sucking so bad no northeast teams are probably practicing?

Anonymous said...

whats wrong with princeton

Anonymous said...

Why no beacon, or Scarsdale? Aren't they on the top of the NY scene? Also how is NMH one of the best reps for mass? I thought their talent dropped off after 2005.

Anonymous said...

Beacon and Scarsdale are not good teams...at all.

Anonymous said...

at all.

Anonymous said...

at all.

Anonymous said...

lol

Anonymous said...

no one was knocking on the programs, the question asked was where are they this year? and at the moment, neither team is remotely competitive, it's not an insult to their past player, just a comment on their current situations

Anonymous said...

Being called a bad team is insulting!

Anonymous said...

Maybe you're right Alex Thorne...or maybe HB Woodlawn only lost two games at Easterns last year and placed higher than Mt. Lebanon.

Anonymous said...

hey anyone know how lexington/Northfield Mt Hermon/FIeldston/Sycamore are doing this year.

I havent heard much about these teams, was wondering if anyone could lay down the inside scoop?

Anonymous said...

NMH has played well so far, but has played teams that are low level and less than stellar.
