Big tournament weekend coming up...

Start your engines we have a big tournament weekend coming up -

Huck or Your Nothing - Princeton, NJ
MadisonMudBath - Madison, WI
Oakwood Invite - NY
[edit] and of course the Paideia Cup

are all slated for this weekend according to the UPA score reporter website. in years past, if im not mistaken, MudBath has been one of the few chances teams from the east and west have to play each other before nationals easterns and westerns. i personally dont know who is attending as of right now, but hopefully one of our contributors will weigh in on the matter.

However, now with the Paideia Cup entering the scene. We may be able to gain a better picture of what easterns is going to look like (minus Paideia) seeing that Amherst, Pennsbury, and Columbia will all be battling down on the same turf.

also interesting to me though is that for some teams this is the last weekend before their respective state's championship.

(Northern California, Missouri, and Tennessee all on the 29th)

Huge storm suppose to hit Princeton, NJ on the first day of the tourny. Wonder how that will play into effect, if not cancel the whole thing.

As of now Huck or You're Nothing is still on for the weekend despite rain and up to 20 mph wind.

Huck or You're Nothing has just been canceled for Saturday by the park director because 2 inches of rain are forecasted. They're afraid of us doing too much damage to the fields, especially with Mercer County Ultimate Disc League starting soon. There might be a one day tournament for Sunday if the rain lets up, but that depends on the weather tomorrow. I hope all the teams get the email notifying them of the cancellation.

Will someone hook us up with Paideia Cup results? First couple of round must've been played out by now.

The Oakwood Invite in NY was still a fun tournament, despite ridiculous rain throughout pool play, the same rain that cancelled the other events in the northeast. There were only six teams (Oakwood A and B, CHS B, Watchung Hills, Hotchkiss, and Darrow), but the tournament was run very well, with hot soup provided to offset the frigid temperatures. Watchung Hills, which was originally slated to attend HOYN and planned to send their JV team to Oakwood, decided to take varsity into NY after HOYN was cancelled. Great spirit all around.
