very nice work, awesome video, and by the looks of it very awesome play.

maybe its just because we only see the highlights but it seems to me as if west coast teams lay out more? what are other people's perceptions of this? of course it varies team by team.

maybe it comes from practicing on plush northwest grass? as opposed to frozen mid atlantic stubby-grass ground?

who knows, just a feeling.

one thing i keep yelling at my screen though - catch your Ds!!

very nice stuff.

Part of that is just Churchill. They lay out the most by far of any team I have seen this year.

I would agree with you on the fact that we need to catch more of our D's. I don't like watching a good D, uncaught, fly into the hands of another player. It makes the D worthless.

On the layout thing. I don't know how much players layout on the east coast. I have only played on the west. It would be very interesting to hear what people have to say on the subject... We do usually have great grass for layouts on the west coast.

I would guess that a lot of it has to do with the fact that you're just seeing the highlights. Keep in mind that most of the layouts that are caught on video are probably going to be on the highlight video.

Also, in the video you saw Tony Ngo laying out in the middle of a patch of dirt. Good grass didn't encourage that layout in any way. =)

When I said that we have good grass, I definately didn't mean that is the reason there might be more layouts in the west. It does definately help a player that doesn't really do it much. But if the person is not afraid and is not new to laying out, the condition of the ground should not matter at all. What matters is that you get the disc. I don't think grass is a factor.
