Cowtown Classic - Vacaville, CA

Alameda tops Castro Valley 15-9 in the Finals of the completely California Cowtown Classic.

This was a crazy tournament with 10 CA teams battling all weekend in the first ever Cowtown Classic. Players were greeted by 30+ mph winds on Saturday, which kept games long and goals scarce, and they returned on Sunday for sunny skies and a mild breeze. Scores can be found at:

This tourney gave many Local teams an opportunity to play eachother, and definitely served as a preview for the Northern California HS State Championships, which go down in Santa Cruz, CA, April 29th and 30th

I officially leave this open for any comments, questions, or stories about this weekend. Ka-Blam.

I won't front, I came off the weekend with 7 handblocks, 4 in the same point.

that's real.

Before you come off thinking you're good or something, let's realize that if you get 4 handblocks in one point a. you weren't guarding anybody good b. your team turned it over 4 times as well.

I got 3 handblocks and one partial, though I did get footblocked myself

see ya next weekend

p.s. can you really be the first comment to your own post?

i dont think anyone should use a hardcap rule if the game is within 2 or 3 points. my point being that my team scored 4 points in a row in an attempted comeback just for the game to be called and us to lose. we were down by one point and we couldnt finish and go credited with a loss. thats some bullshit.
