There are 8 days and counting before the UPA High School Championships take place in both Independence, MO and Pittsburgh, PA. These are the definitive championships that exist and I for one am pumped to see what takes place this year in the wake of such a huge graduated class of 07'.
While I suspect many in the ultimate community are infatuated with the college series, there is something so much more pure in the high school scene. This year there will be 16 open & 12 girls teams competing at Easterns, while Westerns will have 14 and 11 respectively.
Who are the top seeds? Who has the greatest chance at upsetting? Will Northwest Open, Churchill Girls, Pennsbury Open, and Amherst Girls defend their titles? What are these weekends going to hold?
Though I will try my best at giving a preview, I have been far too removed from the high school ultimate scene to give the attending teams what they deserve. I will do my best to give a preview for each division in both Easterns and Westerns. Your corrections, concerns, and updates are highly encouraged.
Lets get some chatter started people.

dylan freechild
sehs ultimate
Maybe SEHS should wait and see if they even finish first in pool before talking about the A1 v C1 crossover game
maybe you should put your name down when you talk crap. dylan was just stating that if that was the game it will be sick.

I agree that will be a sick game. HOWEVER, not SEHS will be playing lakeside. it will be hopkins in a rematch of last yea, that will be a better game than sehs, plus the only reason why south got the 3 seed is cuz they got 2nd last year and killed oregon state championship. but cathederal lost everyone from last year including freechild, so that wasnt even a challenge.
oooh no one gives a crap about last years 9th PLACE game...and dylan went to churchill not cathedral...
westerns open preview is up... so let your talk drift there...
south eugene is actally quite a good team. we played them a few times this year and they look pretty strong. also does the name jacob janin ring a bell.

lakeside
whatever happens, it is going to be a fun tournament, and there is no point talking about what is going to happen.... we should wait to see what will happen.

i didnt mean to assume that south would beat hopkins. just after meeting some of the lakeside kids this year and playing against them and staying with julian atleast for me a friendly rivalry has kind of grown. and i was just saying it would be a good game. there was nothing against hopkins having a good game against them or us. also the south hopkins and nathan hale is ridiculous.
dylan freechild
sehs
ah yes.
good old South Hopkins.
Dylan no offense taken.... and we are really excited to play such a talented south eugene team, no matter what the outcome is I am sure it will be a game to remember in westerns history.
