We all know how strong our US squads are. Does anyone recongize any of these Canadian juniors?

From what I know, Joel Bluman, Jordan McPhee, and Geneva Locke are on the Kitsilano team that won the finals at Spring Reign 2006 in WA.

yes those three are from that team. All in all these teams should be very good. There is good skill all round. Lots of height too. There are 8 girls from the York House team that came 2nd at High School Westerns in 2005. The boys team has a lot of winnipeg and vancouver guys, the two teams in the finals of canadian nationals last summer. ottawa and toronto were in the semis. It should be quite the battle with the US come August in Boston

the teams do look good, but i just realized that David Bryngelson and Zahrah Ali were on the team two years ago, however, they are only alternates this year. i've seen them both play, and they've both improved immensely since then. hmmm....I think that's messed up shit!! but whatever...theres nothing we can do now, but hope that canada will kick ass!!

... maybe all the team's members are even better than their alternates...

Both teams are looking hella strong yo! Especially the girls, lots of height, speed, and experience. Canada's gonna dominate! Who will the captains be I wonder?

based on last year's experience:

for the guys, Jordan M., Russ (both captains of Deep threat), Pat (pheonix), and Jonathan (key player for mofo) are all strong players. Any one of them could be captains.

On the girls side, Tiff (captain of DT), Anne (stella), and Katie (mofo) i would say have a good chance of leading the squad.

what do you think?

I totally agree with you .. 90% though. I think it would be more Josh than Jonathan.

P.S Jordan, Russ, and Tiff were the captains of West Coast Blitz last year .. Deep Threat was two years ago?? But I think you're right about them being captains on Deep Threat as well.

any idea on who will be the starting 7?

Anonymous said...

well... who do YOU think?

Anonymous said...

I think the starting seven for guys would have to be Jonathon, Jordan, Josh, Pat, Russ, Balraj, and Joel.

As for the girls, it will be Andrea, Tiff, Anne, Zahrah, Katie, Alexa, and Geneva or Manny.

Anyone else think the same?

Guys: Pat, Jordan McPhee, Russell, Quinn, Joel, Jonathan, Jordan Cullen

Girls: Tiffany, Anne, Alexa, Alex, Manuelle, Natalee, Andrea

Girls -> Same as above blogger

Guys-> Same as above except I'm replacing Jordan Cullen with Miles Wilson

Anonymous said...

ya, that seems about right. (above post)

The guys from Vancouver are all amazing -- They're all from Saints/Kitsilano, who played eachother in the BC Provincial finals, where Joel was the guys MVP and Manny was the girls. As for the girls, the only thing that could slow Geneva down is her knee... Who knows if she'll be well enough to play in Boston?? All I know is that girl can huck like a man.

the roster all around on both teams look really deep. not only vancouver. winnipeg and ottawa players are also very, very strong. no need to hype them up more than that. just wait and see in boston.

Dose anyone know the heights of the players? I know the US team has something like 15 players over 6'0"... that's scary.

Anonymous said...

That's some bs. http://www2.upa.org/juniors/2006nationalteam

Does anyone else think Connery should have made it?? I played against him and he's really good & hard to beat.

Anonymous said...

He did make it. He just got pulled up from the BC team last week.
